April

The sixth and final photo series takes place during the month of April. Much like the previous series, the way I proceeded to take my photos was by carrying my film camera around with me wherever I went, without exception. During Easter weekend, I headed out to Mount Orford, along with family and friends, where we spent time walking around the neighbouring villages, such as Lennoxville. What was mostly a cloudy weekend was still easily enjoyable, as I happily found beautiful landscapes to photograph.

When I was taking the photos, I noticed that I was giving more importance to the subject being photographed than the background. Indeed, I tried to generally always center the pictures I took on the person being photographed, the landscape in the back only acting as an additional element. In this way, my pictures started to be pre-thought of, instead of taking photographs on the spot. My friends and family started posing for some of them, which made them look like a lot more like portraits. I had previously experienced with this style in the January photo series, but I found this time being different, due to the fact that I was outside, and the background seemed more alive and real.

For the remaining part of the month, I retreated back to my previously used style of photography, which included taking photos of small unimportant moments but nevertheless with a meaning, acting as time snippets forever frozen in time. Without further ado, here are the last photos from these series.
